“We are gathered here today, to get through this thing called life….”
- Prince
Each of us alone as an individual has limited ability to affect the world….but together we can move mountains. That is the basis of the Spirit of Gathering.
This basis is easier to understand using the following analogy:
You may wonder what sets us apart from animals in the world? What are we doing differently that makes the human race so dominant in the world? Everything in the world has competition. Humans seem to have no competition. So what are we doing that is so much different and so much better? What exactly are we doing that sets us apart?
An animal, for the most part, only lives in the present and can only deal with what's in front of them in the here and now. To illustrate this, imagine....
Man and beast meet. Man wins. What happens next? Nothing.
Next consider man and beast meet. This time the beast wins. What happens next? It's not the end of the story this time...due to the man's friends being able to think ahead and to affect/create the future…..man will hunt the beast down so that it doesn't happen again. Mans ability to look up and down time and the ability to CREATE the future is what sets us apart from all other living beings. We are Creators. We create the future to be what we want it to be….we imagine….and with those thoughts we mold and shape the world to fit the vision in our imagination.
Our ability to look up and down time....see what happened, imagine what we want to happen, and then mold reality to fit the image in our minds. The animal, being only able to live in the present simply continues to live the same existence from one generation to the next.
Similarly, being able to learn from the past allows us to continue to build on the shoulders of others that came before us and keep growing to ever greater and greater heights.
That being said, however, our individual ability and power to create is very limited. We can’t do much alone. Think of every great person to walk the planet….rarely did they create what they created alone….they gathered other people to help them create what they accomplished, whether that was for good or for evil.
This can be illustrated using the following analogy:
No man is an island. If you were placed out in the woods by yourself what could you create? Could you create something as simple as a pencil? Or a battery? No.
Throw a very successful and wealthy business man, entrepreneur, athlete, celebrity, etc. Any different? No.
The point being that somebody knows how to create a pencil. And somebody knows how to make a battery. We are all a thread, but just a thread, in the tapestry of life. We all do something that contributes to the big picture and makes life what it is. We NEED each other to make the tapestry, to make it work, to make it beautiful. Alone we're just a thread. No matter who you are. But together….
This is why we gather. As energy/spirits gather and coalesce, their ability to mold and shape and influence the world increases exponentially.
Our mission, therefore, is to gather all who are good and wise in the world to mold and shape the world to fit the vision in our imagination for the good of everyone and for the good of the planet.
Those who are good and wise will understand the vision, will have good motivations and intentions, are trustworthy, are incorruptible because their motivations come from within (from their spirit), they can be organized and because of all these things they can work together in harmony….to move mountains.
Who/what is currently the force for good in the world? Who does the world look to? There is no-one. Where are the knights of the world? We will be that force. We will be the knights the world is yearning for.
Ultimately this is a war of spirits. Not a war of religions…a war of spirits. Our spirit influences our thoughts, our thoughts lead to our imaginations, and our imaginations and thoughts create the world. Everything begins and ends with Spirit.
Finally, with the woods analogy in mind…..real power is given, it is not taken. An individual of great “power” only has that power via other people giving that person their power. (“Their” in that last sentence can be interpreted two ways and both ways are correct.) No matter how bad or evil or dangerous or inept or uncaring a person is, their individual ability to affect the world is limited. Therefore, we must be wise in who we choose to give power to.
